My 2 and a half year old German Sheperd has what looks and smells like a yeast infection on his belly. Is this something I can treat at home, or should I take him to the vet?

My cat has two places on its head were the fur has been rub off and the skin is raw and bleeding, from the ear to the top of her eyes. I have rub some diaper rash ointment on the spots, it seems to be healing, then starts to crack an bleed again. I do not have money to take her to the vet. I went in the hospital january 08 and could not walk. my company closed up, so Ihave no money cooming in. please let me know if there is something more that I can put on these spots on her head. Thank you very much Tim
