Look what happened to that fat cat
Remember Prince Chuck? Yep, he weighed 44 pounds. He’s been adopted. Check him out with his new family.

Prince Chunk is playing with a toy at his new Washington Township, N.J., home in this recent photo (AP). Donna Damiani’s family in Jersey was chosen last month from more than 500 applicants to care for the cat, who was found lumbering around the town of Voorhees after his owner lost her home to foreclosure in July. Tsk, Tsk. The family chosen to adopt Prince Chuck says the shelter that found the tubby tabby is having a lawyer draft a special contract for them to sign.

Damiani, center, and her children Melissa, left, 12, and Vince, 17, adore Prince Chunk, in this photo (AP). He looks cut, right? Happy, for sure.

And, they found another cat in New York that also weighs 33 pounds. His name is Shamu.

Now why can’t the other 499 people adopt another cat. God knows there are plenty of kitties sitting on death row at this moment waiting to be saved.

That’s an excellent point! There are lots of great cats and kittens needing good homes and loving families. I have adopted 3 cats over the years and they are all awesome!

You mean to tell me that he is the only cat available to adopt. Ok, he weighs a whopping 44lbs and I’m glad he was able to be adopted. But there are lots of other cats and kittens in NJ for the other 499 families to adopt. I’m new to ATL and have rescued 2 cats and 3 kittens from the side of the road so far. I don’t need or ask for any help. I will never understand how people can just throw away an animal with no consideration on how they will survive. Shame on the former owner JUST because her home went into forclosure. She only had I cat. I have 2 dogs and 5 cats. I eat they eat. I travel they travel. Please open your hearts to abandoned animals you’ll feel animaltastic.

The best way to deal with a stray cat involves a burlap sack and a large body of water.

I’m a little concerned that he lost all of that weight so quickly. Don’t get me wrong, he looks great. I just hope this isn’t a strain on his heart.

I want to know how they got the weight off; I have to rather portly critters at home and I could use some hints

Dang. When the headline said, “Diet That Worked” I thought they were going to give me tips on how to slim down our kitty, Moose. Moose was large and in charge when we got him from the Humane Society in 2000. We monitor his food and don’t let him over-eat, or anything like that. But now he is a whopping 32 pounds.
